An example of a great local place to explore is Nook... a charming coffee shop close to the apartment with events at night and delicious food. Also, close to our building you can take the L train to Williamsburg and then the ferry to Dumbo, Brooklyn to walk along the river and see the Brooklyn Bridge up close.
You can get around the local neighborhoods on foot or by bicycle, but if you want to travel further afield, the subway, buses, ferries and taxis are easier. You can download free apps to navigate the subway system and purchase an unlimited or pay-per ride Subway MetroCard which is also accepted on the public buses.
Bushwick is known for its local places to eat including the best tacos in New York City at Taqueria Al Pastor a short walk from the Node building.
